Billy Kemper wins the 2010 Hic Sunset Pro




Billy Kemper, 20 years old from Paia Maui wins the 2010 HIC Sunset pro and $12,000.00. Billy also secures a spot in the Triple Crown that starts this week.

Billy Kemper places 4th at the Haliewa Sponsor Me Pro

Kazuma team rider Billy Kemper placed 4th at the Sponsor Me Pro at Haliewa. Billy was the only surfer to reach the final from the 1st round and earned $700 for his impressive finish.

Billy caught the barrel of the day on his 6'2" x 16" x 1.625" round pin "Jaws" model Kazuma tow board. Billy, just like Matt and Ian Walsh ride unweighted Jaws boards and swear by the stability and performance. Billy's board weighed in at 9lbs and is Magic.

Kemper wins two titles at Hookipa surf contest


Billy Kemper of Kuau, Maui won the Pro/Am and the Airshow divisions at the annual Steve Cooner Memorial surf contest. The event was the second in the series of four HGA sponsored events to be held this year. The contest was held Saturday at hookipa Beach Park, Maui in two foot surf featuring many of Maui's top surfers.
In route to his wins Kemper won all of his preliminary heats which included the onlt perfect score of the event.
In addition to the titles Kemper won at Saturdays's contest he was also presented with the overall Junior Men's championship title from last years three event HGA series.
