Kazuma protégé, Kai Barger wins the 2009 US Open pro jr

Kai Barger wins another major surfing event the US open pro jr.

Kai has been a Kazuma student since he was 10 years old and is one the reigning world junior surfing champion. Kai and my son Chaz are both goofy footed and have trained in my exact surfing style and technique. It is fun to train these 2 kids that are a mirror of my surfing and it makes it easy to understand the mechanics of their surfing. Now Chaz, who is 12, is riding the exact copies of the boards that Kai won the NSSA Nationals with back when he was 12 years old. Proven product, proven training program.

Congratulations Kai, we are all so proud of you.

Welcome to Josh Stone

Josh Stone is a windsurf legend. His dad was (still is !) a ripper on the north shore of Oahu.
Josh has been retired from the competition where he had a few world champion titles, but still windsurf and surf every day, here on Maui.
He loves SUP and i really wanted him to try our range of products. Matt and him had this crazy idea to make a supersize SHIBI, as a SUP board.
What a result. The board is insane and will revolution the way people ride a stand up paddle board.

Welcome Josh.

Thanks Matt for your hard work

The new Shibi SUP open doors to a new level of performances. It's a new era in the sport.
The board is just insane. You ride a shortboard, you can hit the lip, carve, accelerate... It's so much fun.

Josh Stone has some good things to say about the Shibi:
"The shibi is what I've been waiting for in Stand up! I love that it turns like a short board, but still has lots of volume and stability, without being sticky going down the line. Its the future of SUP for sure!"

16th annual Pohai Keiki Nalu contest

The waves were firing at Launiapoko on Saturday June 13th for the 16th annual Pohai Keiki Nalu Menehune contest. Head high waves and smooth water made for some of the best waves this event has ever seen. The level of surfing was amazing and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Hi-Tech and Honolua Surf Co for putting on this great free event for our kids.

Billy Kemper and Granger Larson placed equal 3rd. Matt Meola and Tanner Hendrickson placed equal 5th. Impressive results from the Maui Boys and this shows the dominating success of the Kazuma training program.

Secret spot

Well, today was suppose to be firing on the south side, we took our chance and went to Lanai.... Side shore wind, bumpy, not the best really....We had a lot of fun anyway, 3 foot sets and alone in the water, far from the crowd on Maui.
francky

Nice south swell the last 2 days

I went to Dumps yesterday with my friend Michelle, she had a blast on a 6.0 shibi we have for test at the shop. francky
